Thank you to Chad, Rebecca, Anni, Karen and all of our Crossfit coaches and INCREDIBLE new friends.   Without you our journey to fitness and a healthy life style would be yet another dream.  We started Crosssfit about 4 months ago.  At the we weren’t sure we would live, let alone make is far as we’ve come.  None of this would be possible without the support each of you.  You have coached, motivated, inspired and yes nagged us.  Fen and I are blessed to have such amazing people who have invested in our success.  We aren’t there yet, but we are on our way.

Running sucks, we hope in time it gets easier!

The women at our  Crossfit gym are extremely fit.  While I don’t like the pain and torture of working out, I love their commitment and I am humbled to be working out with them. They are my inspiration and proves to me that Crossfit can produce not only lean, toned physiques but also amazing friendships.  I am amazed with Brittney.  She is a tiny woman with immense power.  She generally does the WOD and never stops.  I am stunned by her strength and endurance.  She inspires me and while I know I will never look as good as her I hope to have the strength and ability to perservere.

One of the most inspirational aspects of Crossfit has been the energy and support of fellow Crossfitters (strange to be considered one).  The people at Crossfit La Mesa have been incredibly supportive, yet push us just enough.  Regardless of looking like dorks or being the slowest of the group, we have never felt inferior for screwing up form or felt we were looked down on for asking a zillion questions.  In truth, the opposite has occurred.  Our Crossfit partners have cheered us, helped us pick up and select the proper weight, helped put the equipment away, but most importantly encourage us to do more every day.     Steve R and his wife Larissa some of the first people we met at the gym.  They are terrific people and extremely inspirational.  With few exceptions, they also get up way too early and go to the gym.  Steve is hilarious and makes us laugh.  The amount of weight he lifts is ridiculous.  Larissa is quiet, extremel...

Today was an 18 minute partner AMRAP.  It included deadlifts, push jerks, and front squats.  Chad hooked me up with Annemarie, a seasoned Crossfitter.   It was a WOD and included lifting weights which isn’t something I have developed proper form yet, so it was pretty tough workout for me. Fen worked out with Jorge who is also seasoned.  He is in LE and looked like he might be one of those athletes that can pull a semi truck.

Been gone for a while

It’s been several months since I last posted. Way too long!!  Things have been going well this year and we are continuing our Crossfit Journey, but life has gotten in the way and I haven’t taken time to post.   One of our gym partners busted my chops yesterday about slacking off with the blog.  I decided to dedicate a few posts to some of the amazingly athletes at the gym.  If it weren’t for these individuals Fen and I wouldn’t be as driven to get up at 4:45 am for a 5:30 class.   We want to thank Chad, Anni, Dawn, Peter, Steve, Larissa, Nicolle, Mondo, Charlie, Brittney, Christian, Justin and Claudia.  Without your encouragement and motivation we wouldn’t be willing to continue in this crazy Crossfit journey.
