June 13 - Chad’s Back!!

Today Chad gave us a crazy warm up. It is called the SPECK.  We had to hold a plank for three minutes, suspend our feet six inches off the ground, flutter flicks and hold a push up  one inch off the ground.  In case you’re wondering I wasn’t nowhere close to one inch, more like six.  It was really, really hard, but I actually enjoyed it.  Holy crap, I just said I enjoyed it!  What’s wrong with me?  Shhhh...don’t tell Chad!

First day of year two!

Well, today was the first day of year two.  The first year we focused on health, mechanics and building our endurance.  Year two we are going to focus on becoming stronger, feeling more energized and transform our bodies. It’s been a tough year for me.  I’m a klutz and have three compressed vertebrates in my neck which has resulted in excruciating neck pain and massive headaches.  My chiropractor gave me a thirty dollar lecture and made me cut out all sugar and processed food from my diet.  He said sugar is causing added inflammation and making things worse. I’m 19 days sober 😜 and feeling a lot better.  I can’t lie it’s hard, but I’m desperate and hopeful cutting it from my diet (or limiting it) I will heal more rapidly.

It’s been a year!

It’s hard to believe a year ago today Fen and I started this crazy Crossfit journey.  What an amazing experience we’ve gone through.  It’s been one of the hardest things we have ever experienced and challenging...to say the least!  The truth is we could have easily given up, but the people we workout with inspire us immensely and when we don’t see them we miss them....call us crazy!!!! Our goal when we started was to go at least three times a week, but on average we make it five times provided the work schedule permits.  In general, we go Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.  The worst part is during the week because we do the 5:30 am class.  Some days the weather is hot as Hell and other mornings it’s freaking cold as theArctic.  Without a doubt getting out of bed at 4:45 am, when every muscle in our body hurts requires dedication. What made each morning easier was knowing we weren’t the only crazies working out at o’dark thirty. Thanks...

This has been a crazy month.  I was out of town almost the entire month between our vacation in Vietnam and a conference in Boston.  As much as bitch about working out, I discovered I really missed it.

Things have been pretty crazy the last few months, so I haven’t made anytime to blog.  I will try to post at least once a week.  We were on vacation in Vietnam and found a Crossfit gym in Saigon.
